About six months ago Mr. Emirhan Kuzu was appointed as Sayokan Netherland representative. He quickly established Sayokan and arranged a kickoff seminar.  ”Yabgu” Nihat Yigit, the founder of Sayokan, was invited to give seminar.

SWF President Prof.  Unal Ozdemir, Gen. Secretary Prof. Fatih Aydin and Aybar Emine Yigit also joined the seminar from Turkiye.

It was also an opportunity for me and other Aybars to refresh, increase our knowledge, catch up with Yabgu. His teaching is always detailed and precise. I like to attend his classes and just be a student.

The seminar was also open to none Sayokan practitioners. Around 14 countries were interested to join. Most none EU countries had visa issues and could not make it. All Sayokan EU countries were present.

The organisation was well prepared and executed. We were picked (all quests) from airport and brought straight to the seminar place. Seminar place was in a woodland, self contained purpose built camping area.  Located at ”De Stulp” Hilversumsestraatweg 1 3744 KB Baarn. It has rooms to stay, a big kitchen to cook and enough space for inside and outside training as well as an entertainment hall.

It was truly a cultural event. A chef (teacher) with his wife cooked south eastern Turkish food with extra deserts in the evenings and other snacks in between the meals. It was all delicious. They were so kind, caring and accommodating. I thank them on behalf of Sayokan family.

In the evenings and during the days, we had many visitors from Turkish community, which is a tightly connected and supportive, from Utrecht and nearby towns. They were also very kind to us.

Yabgu had to adjust seminar curriculum according to the levels of participants. Some essential basics as well as advanced techniques were practiced.

Local press and council officials  (including mayor) also visited the camp place. They were pleased about  our self defense system for all ages as well as Sayokan’s mentality of respect for all and none religious approach where every person could apply his/her own faith in spiritual development side if chosen. They shared Turkish tea and some Turkish food with us. It was a warm welcome and we thank them for visiting and welcoming us.

The last day was sentimental. In all Sayokan seminars and camps we talk, joke, train and catch up with each other, form new friendships and say good bye hoping to meet in another Sayokan event. It was a very good seminar well organized and done. Thanks to Sayokan Holland team.

Ferhat Özsert

SWF’s President Mr.Ünal Özdemir, gen.secretary Mr.Fatih Aydın and Yabgu participated to FERHAT OZSERT BUDO GALA. This activity is organized by The Defence Sports Federation on April 15, 2012 in Istanbul. Yabgu is trained by Grandmaster Ferhat Özsert. Therefore, grandmaster is very important for Yabgu. Grandmaster couldn’t come to this activity, becousof his illness. Therefore yabgu went to near him.

Who is Ferhat Özsert? He is leader of full contact karete systems of Turkiye. Kyokushin karate (1972) and Ashihara karate (1986) were brought by Grandmaster Ferhat Özsert to Turkiye. He is legend of full contact karate systems in Turkiye. He is very strong, high technician, fearless, brave person.

He has trained thousands of sensei in Kyokushin and Ashihara karate. Grandmaster is like father for Yabgu. After Yabgu has comeback from Europe to Turkiye on 1981, become his student. And he is still his student.

Seminar fee is € 150,00 (Euro) which also include accommodation and food.

SWF Board of Directors have taken the following decisions in a meeting.

1 – The Turkish Sayokan Federation (STF) which was founded on 05.01.2005 and served throughout Turkey was terminated on 01.01.2008. All Sayokan Alps (Tanyu, Tayangu, Aybar, Tuyun) who have been certified by STF and given documents naturally have been obsolete (no longer valid). Those who have certificates from STF and also from Sayokan World Federation (SWF), which has been formed on the date of 07.12.2005 and continues till now, but not been active (Tuyuns, Aybars, Tayangus, and Tanyus) introduced the possibility of being active again.

Those who want to take advantage of this possibility, need to apply with the following required documents. Applications should be submitted until May 1, 2012 which is the deadline. If not submitted until this date, their folders will be archived and no longer will be valid.

In order to apply for Active  status;

   – Letter of appeal to be active in Sayokan,

   – A copy of the certificates (San, Aybar, Referee etc.),

   – Photocopy of Identity,

   – A new passport size photo taken (5),

   – If the applicant is Tuyun, needs to apply for SWF yellow sticker identification card. If the applicant is Aybar or above, need to apply/have for SWF blue identity card,

2 – If the person(s) resigned before from Sayokan and given a written declaration (openly on various media) to cease Sayokan activities, his(their) folder(s) have been archived and their certificates decided to be invalid. People who just resigned from their posts are exempt from this decision.

3 – People who haven’t been resigned, but their certificates are not valid anymore, have possibility to apply but their application will be considered as new application and the usual procedure will be applied. Their Sayokan titles will not be valid any longer.

Head Sinayci (referee)  Halil Kozanoglu, Sinayci Huseyin yabir, Mahmut Turhan, Murat Cekic and Emine Yigit’s control, it wasn’t  an easy day for the participating Alps.

Yabgu Nihat Yigit made an explanation of What is kozgu and what does it aim for? SWF president Doc. Dr. Unal Ozdemir thanked Rector (University of Karabuk) Prof. Dr. Burhanettin Uysal and Health and Sports department for providing the facilities.

Chairman of the SDF Unal Ozdemir, vise-president Tayangu Mucahit Coşkun, CRC President, “Aybar,” Halil Kozanoglu, head of sponsorship and financial institutions, “Aybar,” Emine Yigit and founder of the Sayokan “Yabgu” Nihat Yigit attended the Azerbaijan seminar.

During the seminar program,  the MP from Azerbaijan Parliament Mr. Fuat MURADOV met Sayokan management and Sayokan’s definition, content, objectives, projects related to the Turkish world were explained to him. Mr. Muradov listened intently, with an emphasis on the importance of the contribution provided to young people in the world of Turks. They said, Sayokan will be supported the first in Azerbaijan. “Sayokan Federation of Azerbaijan” on the establishment of the things that should be done as soon as expressed.

Also MP A. Ganira PASHAYEVA met with Sayokan management with a very warm and friendly atmosphere. She welcomed Sayokan and listened carefully for any issues. She was extremely courageous, courteous, respectful who has a strong personality.

She promised to support Sayokan’s development in Turkish republics, providing quidence and expertise for the growth. She said that they would provide, contribute to the roadmap. She promised to support the completion of “Azerbaijan Sayokan Federation”.
